The first game is Shrink, which is a simple arcade type of game. The objective is to use the arrow keys to shrink down your field as far as you can, without letting any of the objects hit the edges while shrinking, until it is small enough to move on to the next level.

My Likes

What I like about this game is that it’s quick, fast paced and the difficulty progresses. I also enjoy the lack of rules with this game. You really have to pay attention to timing in Shrink, or you’ll die.

If you have never seen the show Lie To Me, YOU SHOULD!
Based on the real-life scientific discoveries of Paul Ekman, the series follows Lightman and his team of deception experts as they assist law enforcement and government agencies to expose the truth behind the lies.

The main character is Dr. Cal Lightman played by Tim Roth. Dr. Lightman always finds himself in some type of situation, from a coal mine, to gun point, but he always gets the job done despite his unethical approach at times.

However with Cal having the misfortune of knowing when people are lying to him, he often needs someone to balance him out, and that person is Dr. Gillian Foster.

Dr. Foster is played by Kelli Williams who is Cal’s better half, and always brings him back to reality. She is constantly keeping the Lightman group afloat.

This show has quickly became one of my favorite shows. If you haven’t seen it, stop depriving yourself and check it out.

Lie To Me comes on Monday’s at 9 on FOX.

Have you ever watched the L word? If so, and you were a committed fan and watched all seasons, then you are in for a treat.

I started watching the L word in it’s sixth season after a friend recommended it, and it was on my on demand, so why not? After watching a couple of episodes, I was surprised at how enthralled I had become with this television show. I watched the whole season within a week. I started telling all of my friends to watch it and everything. I awaited the next season eagerly, only to be left with a cliff hanger that would never end, because the show got cancelled. WHAT? Who the heck killed Jenny? How could they cancel such a good show? Are they watching the same thing as I am? Apparently not, because it never came back. They thought they were doing it justice by creating the Real L Word, but it’s not the same at all.

Kalamazoo’s Shawntai Brown created the next episode to the L word. She says she was applying for a screenwriting program in California, and for the application she had to write a episode from a show that she liked, and she wrote the next episode to the L word. Guys I had the chance to read this script, and believe me when I say, she has truly captured the voice of the characters and it’s so good! Since the screenwriting program didn’t accept her, she’s found a place that’s going to put it on as a play! The news about this play is all over town, and even spreading farther than Kalamazoo. Shawntai created a website for the Elle play, and even people from South Africa has commented. I know the screenwriting program will kick themselves for not accepting her later. This is going to be huge, and you won’t want to miss it!

Shawntai says, “Its more than a play. I want this to be a new thing for Kalamazoo. I want this to be a place where people can connect, get a better understanding of one another. They can be entertained but also educated. I hope that this play becomes a safe place for people, for them to express themselves artistically and emotionally, and to have fun.”

You heard(Read)  it from her own mouth, she wants this to be a new thing for Kalamazoo, and I think it already has started to be.

Fire presents S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D. – Stories, Testimonies, Intentions, Truths/Confessions, Healing, Expressions, Dreams.

“S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D is about history; it’s about herstory. It’s about ourstory, and our collective future. It’s about challenging the coercive messages that are circulating in the mass media with a multiplicity of truths. It’s about the collective wisdom and collaborative power of our communities. It’s about the transformative strength of testimony for healing. It’s about the self-identification that comes from hearing the stories of strangers, the resurgence of humanity, and the realization of community.

We are now facilitating workshops around S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D. The project has become a powerful centerpiece of collective healing, anti-racism, and creative uprising workshops we have conducted with youth groups, community groups, and students around the country.

The magic of S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D comes from declaring our truths, and bearing witness to others’. When we tell our own stories, we reclaim the power to write our own futures. When we recognize ourselves in each other, we begin to dispel the myths that are created to keep us divided. Our goal is nothing short of transforming a culture of cynicism into a culture of caring. This project is one stitch in the patchwork of our collective liberation.

Climbing PoeTree have blazed stages from Oakland to Atlanta, South Africa to Cuba with artists such as Amiri Baraka, Sonia Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, Jessica Care Moore, The Last Poets, and Dead Prez. They have led workshops in institutions from Cornell University to Riker’s Island. And they have painted murals on walls from the Bronx, to Santiago, to Jamaica. Climbing PoeTree’s uses their art to expose injustice, heal from violence, and generate vision to help us all imagine a more just and compassionate world.”

WHAT? I know you were thinking it when you read the title, and I’m going to be honest and tell you that I thought the same thing.

Talk about Persistence, JEEZ!

The Story

“In Seoul, South Korea this woman finally earned her driver’s license after 960 tries. She’s ready to buy a car and get to driving. Yonhap news agency reported Thursday that 69-year-old Cha Sa soon passed the driving part of the test last month on her 10th try. South Korea requires a written test first, and Cha took it nearly daily since April 2005 before passing last year.

Yonhap quoted her as saying she wanted to buy a small secondhand car to visit her son and daughter and for her business selling vegetables.”

Wow! I don’t even know what to say. 960 tries! There are so many ways I could take this. Some people may say that this woman does not belong on the roads if it took her 960 times, and I do agree with those individuals. Come on people, granted she only took the written section 960 times, but she still took the road test 10 times! She has spent over $6,000 taking this test!

I don’t feel like she should have needed to take the test 960 times, by the 4th-5th times she should have memorized the dang test! But no, she had to take it 955 more times, because something wasn’t clicking. I thought there was a limit on the number of times you could take it, guess not.

However you have to admire that persistence. She’s been trying since 2005! To want something so badly that you’re willing to do whatever it takes, and however long it takes is admirable, but may not have been the best decision on the Driver’s License Agency’s part.

What is the world coming to when teachers mistake their role as educators as the evil bullies the kids hate?

In Houston, Texas Sherri Lynn Davis, 40-year-old science instructor at Jamie’s House Charter School, jumped on 13-year-old student Isaiah Johnson. Now, when I say “jumped on” I really mean jumped on, not a little smack, this woman was attacking him like he just ate her babies or something. The teacher said that she did it because he was making fun of a female classmate…WTF? Since when does making fun of someone equals the teacher beating you violently? I remember the good old days, when if someone made fun of someone in school the teacher would make them stop, give them detention, or send them to the principle’s office. Are these not options anymore for todays youth? If not, they are going to have some extremely hard knocks (literally).

The beating was caught on video and became public and grabbed national attention during the week of May 10. One of his classmates said, “She just started beating him up… . His behavior may have been bad but he didn’t deserve that.” Now this student may have been a bad apple too, but even she knows that things like that are not suppose to happen.

Ms. Lynn was fired after the video became public, which begs the question, if the video never hit the light would they have fired her?

I’m so addicted to sunglasses right now! Everytime I go into a store I have to buy some. Granted I have glasses and no contacts at the moment, it still doesn’t stop me from my sunglass fix. Now you can’t just go in a buy the first pair of sunglasses that you see. For me, it’s like i’m browsing, i’m browsing…and BAM! There it is, the pair that I MUST have. Just like the glasses in my picture above, I just had to have them, and not only do they look good on my face, but they make great photo subjects!

Sunglasses can do a number of good or bad things for a person.
The Good:
1. They can make you look cooler than you are.
2. They can hide your emotions. Even if you are crying, if you have on the right sunglasses, people won’t know. Or if you’re playing poker it will hide your eyes from any tells that you have.
3. You can stare at people, without them knowing. If you like to people watch like I do, it could come in handy. Now i’m NOT talking about being a creeper and staring at parts you shouldn’t.

The Bad
1.If you are not wearing the right glasses for your face, then you may look stupid.
2. You may look less approachable, because people can’t see your eyes.
3. If it’s a really sunny day, then you may get a unwanted, awkward face tan. No one wants this, trust me, I learned the hard way.

So this summer, I think everyone should just go Sunglass CRAZY!!
